New York Yankees 1977 World Series Collector's Edition.

A Review By Phil Speranza

What a better time to help cheer up a Yankee fan than right now.  Well A&E Home Vision has done it again.  How do you follow up the 2005 release of The New York Yankees Fall Classic Collector's Edition 1996-2001?  That would be tough to beat but being it’s the 30th Anniversary they released the New York Yankees 1977 World Series Collector's Edition.

The box set includes all six games against the Dodgers and includes a bounus disk of the ALCS clincher that was decided by the 9th inning Chris Chambliss home run.  While the set proclaims is not pristine video quality, what Yankee fan would not go back and want to relive the memories of Reggie, Thurman, Willie and Lou.  Like it predecessor the sleeves are worth the cost of the set itself.

It brings over 15 hours into your living room of the Fenway Park Reggie-Billy face-off, Reggie’s 3 HR game, the Clubhouse celebration and trophy presentation just like you saw it on ABC TV.  Keith Jackson, Tom Seaver, and Howard Cosell handle announcing duties during ABC's broadcast of the World Series. The announcing for the ALCS game handled by the immortal team of Bill White, Frank Messer, and the one and only Scooter Phil Rizzuto.

What Yankee fan wouldn’t love this set?  No Yankee video set would be complete without it.  A&E has given us several sets to give away.
