Bosses Bombers Bash Baltimore
America and George Steinbrenner both celebrated their birthday during this series. Hopefully their wishes came true.
Yanks score 25 runs in two games against the Orioles and complete the sweep of Baltimore.
It is the Orioles that hold a stranglehold on the Yankees this season. But after these last two games, it appears the Orioles have crumbled into bird droppings. The Yankees are slowly pecking away Baltimore’s lead.
If the Yankee offense could score this many runs every game, there would be no need for any new pitchers. Many still think Yankee pitching is way over mature to win any championship.
Whether you think the Yankees pitchers should be applying for Social Security or looking for a retirement home in Florida, there is still hope for Yankee fans.
Many of us would like to forget the events and World Series of 2001. If you are still stinging from these two historical events, join the club.
I also remember reading every day in the newspaper that the starting pitching of the Diamondbacks was way to old to win a Bingo title, let alone a World Series championship.
Even though it seemed the average age of that Diamondback team was 77, they still came through and won the World Series.
I still cannot believe the Yankees lost to the “Newbie” Diamondbacks. I have to admit it was very exciting to watch.
Hopefully in 2005 the Yankees can repeat what many viewed as an inferior Diamondback Pitching staff of 2001.
Even as dismal as 2001 was for the whole Country and Yankee Fans, it is nice to find something positive for Yankee pitching.
